OpenPalace Server•Server ideas?

  Just want to start a brainstorming session about ideas for the new OpenPalace Server... what do you guys think? What would you like to see available in a new server?

  Recently, I posted a reply over at PalacePlanet forums with feedback for OpenPalace, referring to it in general. However, some of the ideas may be applicable to an OpenPalace server application, so here goes the link:

  Hey, people!
  I'm a little out of the loop lately. I had a hate-run with Palace (Which isn't Palace's fault, but Avatar Palace's).
  
  Okay. So, I read your post and here's what I *knew* as the latest info:
  
  PServer plugins will probably be coded in JavaScript or Ruby(onRails?).
  
  MySQL was discussed, but I don't recall being it a yes or a no. Some thought it's a little too to run a MySQL server simply for palace, maybe it being able to connect to a database (might be done trough JS+php or Ruby on Rails). So, a SQL Lite or something similar might also do the trick, but I would still prefer MySQL (have no idea why).
  
  Advertising on facebook *might* be a good idea, but look at all those AVP groups; none likes them, people are ashamed to join... yada yada yada. On the other hand I'm strongly against facebook, but I'm not completely opposed to it.
  
  I also think server-side variables will be introduced very soon in near future. :)
